ROME VBS this weekend:

At ROME VBS this weekend, our young Romans will be making these Bulla necklaces. Roman children were given charm/talisman lockets similar to these to wear for protection. The "Jesus fish" (ichthys) symbol here is a reminder that God's love is our protection.

The ICHTHYS was an important symbol for the early church and still is for Christians today. These letters spell the Greek word for "fish" and also are a secret code to identify other Christ-followers. Do you know what it means? Ask the kids Sunday morning.

To BORROW:
• electric pillar candles or lanterns
• striped blankets for family tables
• 4 white twin-size flat sheets for togas
• earthenware pots, urns, jars, etc.
• heavy chain, about 6-10 feet
• a ring of “jailer’s” skeleton keys

For KEEPS:
• Cardboard tubes for scrolls (paper towel tubes, aluminum foil tubes, etc.)

The last regular WOW Kids of the year, and the kids were especially sweet. We'll be back for VBS in a couple of weeks. ❤️
