June 4, 2026 Week 1 Adult Reading Program
We had a great time decorating pots and planting herbs.

Whew! Our first day of our partnership with The Food Bank of Central Louisiana for the Summer Feeding Program was a whirlwind! We successfully gave out all 75 packs of lunches, but we had some hiccups getting there. Due to some staffing and milk delivery issues beyond the control of the Food Bank, we were not able to start on time. Our staff did their best to accommodate all the waiting families. To everyone who came today, thank you so much for your patience.
We want you to know that next week will run much smoother! Please help us get the word out about the following details:

1️⃣We can only hand out lunches between 12-2 PM on Thursdays. You must be registered for the Summer Feeding Program. Doing this ahead of time will speed the process for you, so all you'll need for pickup is your ID. You may come by and register any time.

2️⃣The Food Bank is providing us with as many lunches as possible (according to their stock and our space constraints), and the meals are first-come-first-served. Due to our space constraints within the library, we will begin a ticket system so you don't have to wait in line for hours! You may start picking up TICKETS at 11:30 AM on Thursdays. Then, you'll pick up the food packs between 12-2 PM.

3️⃣ Children in school, ages 3 - 18, qualify for the Summer Feeding Program. Adults must pick up packs (children do not have to be present). An alternate pickup person may be written on your registration form. You must present your ID and sign-in when picking up.

We are so grateful to the Food Bank of Central Louisiana for providing the Summer Feeding Program, and we're glad to be able to partner with them! Thank you again for your understanding today, and please help us spread the word for next week!

June 2 Slice of Summer fun Watermelon Painting at Converse Branch! This crew had a great time and shared many laughs along the way! Everyone's door hanger turned out amazing!

May 17th Afternoon Tea Party Bridgerton Inspired. Everyone had a great time enjoying conversations, book recommendation swaps, creating bookmarks, and dancing. We would like to thank everyone for taking the time to attend this event, Ms. Agnes Green for donating teacakes and an assortment of cookies, and Linsey DuBose for the iced sugar cookies.
