Back to school is approaching quickly! With schedules getting back into the school-time routine, we wanted to remind you that we are open from 6am - 7pm during the week. Let your furry friend play with their friends while your kids are at school.

How do you keep your pet from getting matted and having to be shaved down? There are a few steps to this.

1) Frequent trips to the groomer: every 4-8 week depending on your pet's coat. This will help keep your pet's coat clean, free of tangles, and properly maintained.

2) Proper brushing: here is a link to an amazing video on how to properly brush and comb your pet. Please note that your tools do not have to be expensive and you can purchase a slicker brush and comb at the shop the next time you have your pet groomed!

3) Bathe your pet at home. This can help you find knots or trouble spots more frequently. It is important to brush your pet prior to bathing. Bathing mats can make them tighten and increase the difficulty of removing them.

Educational Friday!
With these hot summer days, protecting your pet's paws from the hot summer concrete is a must! Here are some tips to help minimize the risk of discomfort.
1) Walk your pet early in the morning or late at night when the temperature outside is not as warm and the heat can dissipate from the concrete better.
2) Allow your pet to walk as much as possible on grass or other cooler surfaces.
3) Do not use any paw butters or treatments before a walk. These products are designed to help keep their paws from becoming too rough and can make their paws burn more easily on the concrete.
4) If your pet will tolerate them, dog shoes on shorter walks will help protect their pads. These are not recommended for longer walks as the feet are one of the main areas for body heat release.
