Copied this from another CR and it’s so so true!!!

"Every time I tell someone I go to Celebrate Recovery, I can almost see the question forming in their head.

“Oh… so what were you addicted to?”

And honestly?

That’s exactly why so many people never walk through the doors.

Because somewhere along the way, we decided recovery was only for people whose struggles were visible.

The alcoholic.
The drug addict.
The gambler.

But what about the woman who can’t sleep because anxiety is running the show?

What about the guy whose anger is costing him every relationship he has?

What about the people pleaser who is exhausted from carrying everyone else’s problems while silently drowning in their own?

What about the perfectionist who believes their worth is tied to performance?

What about the person stuck in shame, fear, control, resentment, toxic relationships, insecurity, depression, or the need for everyone’s approval?

See, those things may not come in a bottle.

But they’ll still destroy your peace.

Celebrate Recovery isn’t about what you’re addicted to.

It’s about what you’re hiding.

The truth is, every single one of us has something we’re using to cope, avoid, numb, control, or protect ourselves.

Some people’s hurts are obvious.

Others wear a smile, serve at church, show up to work, post the happy pictures, and quietly fall apart when nobody’s looking.

That’s why I love Celebrate Recovery.

Not because it’s a place for broken people.

Because it’s a place where people stop pretending they’re not.

No one is shocked by your story.
No one is keeping score.
No one is asking you to be perfect.

Just honest.

And maybe that’s why God moves so powerfully there.

Because healing starts where pretending ends.

So no…

Celebrate Recovery isn’t just for drugs and alcohol.

It’s for anyone who’s tired of carrying something they were never meant to carry alone.

And if we’re being real?

That’s probably all of us."

Join us on Thursday, May 14th, at First Methodist Church Mansfield in the Chapel located at 777 N. Walnut Creek Drive, Mansfield TX 76063 at 6:30 pm as we study Lesson 14 — “Ready”.

Being ready in recovery means being willing to make whatever changes are necessary for growth and healing. Remember, change does not happen overnight — it takes time, patience, and faith.

It is our willingness and choice to be ready for God to remove our character defects and flaws, restoring us as a new creation made in His image.

ARE YOU READY?

2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
