After nearly five decades of service to the City of Manning, James "Hound Dog" Pringle is still answering the call.

From collecting trash as a young city employee in 1984 to serving as a firefighter, reserve police officer, fleet manager, minister and mentor, Pringle's career has been defined by a commitment to helping others. Last month, the Manning Police Department promoted him to lieutenant over its reserve officer program, recognizing decades of dedication to the community he calls home.

"I love serving. I love the people. I love the community. That's why I never left Manning."
