The members of Basin Fire Department continue to show their dedication and commitment to serving our community.
We are proud to recognize one of our firefighters for successfully completing Firefighter 1 training, as well as six of our firefighters who spent their weekend completing Auto Extrication training.
These firefighters continue to dedicate their personal time to training, improving their skills, and preparing themselves to better serve and protect not only our community, but the surrounding communities as well. Their hard work, commitment, and willingness to learn does not go unnoticed.
Please join us in congratulating all of these firefighters on their accomplishments and continued dedication to the fire service.

Today we want to recognize one of our Jr. Probationary Firefighters for a huge accomplishment!
Not only has he successfully graduated high school, but he has also spent the last year working hard and dedicating countless hours to training with the department. While balancing school and fire service responsibilities, he has already achieved multiple certifications including:
• HazMat Awareness
• HazMat Operations
• Oklahoma State EMR License
• Currently working to obtain Firefighter 1
• Currently working to obtain his EMT-B (emergency medical technician-basic)
His dedication, work ethic, and commitment to serving others at such a young age is something to be proud of. The future of the fire service is bright with young men and women like this stepping up to serve their communities.
Please join us in congratulating him on his graduation and all of his accomplishments so far. We are proud to have him as part of our fire department family and look forward to watching him continue to grow in the fire service. 🚒🎓
From Chief Chris Chailer: I am super proud of all your accomplishments and your drive to keep achieving your goals.

This evening at 5:08 PM, Basin Fire Department was dispatched to a grass fire threatening a residence. The first brush unit arrived on scene at 5:17 PM and immediately began suppression efforts, successfully slowing the head fire and preventing further extension.
Due to the potential threat to the home, Basin requested Mannford Dispatch to page Mannford Fire Department and Keystone Fire Department for additional assistance. However, after the first arriving brush unit quickly knocked down the head fire and the situation was brought under control, the additional responding departments were canceled.
I am extremely proud of the work our firefighters did on this incident. Basin Fire had a total of 10 firefighters respond, including 4 members of our Junior Firefighter Program who continue to step up and gain valuable experience under supervision.
We also want to thank Mannford EMS for responding and standing by on scene in the event medical assistance was needed.
The cause of the fire was do to a power wire on the pole arched. Thanks to Indian Electric for their fast response as well.
