Know what’s crazy?

We moved 3 times in the last 2 years!

We have 8 kids. That’s 10 people, y’all!

You see, we had to vacate the farmhouse we were renting because of a furnace incident!

We smelled fuel fumes the entire year and a half we lived there. Little did we know it was a warning sign of that dreaded thing called a puffback!

On the morning of November 19, ‘21 we awoke to a horrible sulfuric smell and a haze in the air. We discovered our noses were filled with black greasy film. We were unable to locate the problem but I knew instantly that something wasn’t right and I got the kids outside asap!

I called the fire department and they confirmed the source and deemed the home unlivable until it was professionally cleaned. I was having chest pains from being inside too long so we sat in our van while we tried to figure out what in the world we’re going to do.

How do you just up and leave your home and everything? Even the clothes we had on were covered with soot. Everything in the home was affected. Literally everything.

It looked like an insurmountable mountain.

But we took one day at a time and here we are, 9 months later.

Today I’m grateful for all our family and friends who helped through the craziness.

I’m grateful for a hotel to stay in and restaurants to eat at, till we found a clean place to rent.

I’m grateful for the in between home to stay in while we recovered from horrible sicknesses triggered by the soot inhalation… and where we lived while I had my surgery and started rehab… till we bought our home, and renovated it enough to move in.

I’m grateful for our very own home!

I’m grateful that we can live in it during the ongoing renovation process!

I’m grateful for my online business that ran in autopilot during the past 9 months!

I’m grateful for our high impact, whole food supplements during this crazy time!

I’m grateful too, that my CAM impingement and labral tears in my hip were found just before the furnace incident so I finally understood why I lived in horrific pain!

I’m grateful that my first surgery was successful and the second one is scheduled for November!

I’m grateful for my loving and caring husband and kids who run the home while I go easy on my leg till surgery! This wasn’t possible last time and I was in horrible pain during the puffback cleanup!

Yes, I didn’t grasp the complexity of the situation from the furnace till months later. But we see very clearly that it was Jesus at the wheel saying “THIS IS THE TIME for you to buy a home. I have one for you. It’s GO TIME!!!”

HE made sure all the ducks were in a row, and everything was aligned so perfectly. That’s why this roller coaster journey ended up so well!

My beautiful little boy had a rough start. He was non verbal at 2 and had so much separation anxiety. We did speech therapy for 2 years…

He was just starting to talk in full sentences a year ago. And the joy in his heart and mind reflected the healing that was happening in his gut and brain!
