In for the next few weeks for some custom engineering and wiring work is this Java Black Pearl 2004 Subaru WRX STI that has been 4EAT-swapped per the customer’s request.

This project is in collaboration with It has their custom high-mount rotated turbo kit with a G30 turbo.

We plan to do full standalone ECU with transmission control integrated within the ECU. We’ll share more details and specs later, but we’re excited to take on a unique challenge where drivability and comfort come first, followed by a modest amount of performance per the customer’s request.

We visited to begin the project of bringing this legend of the Subaru community back to life. Coined “Sonic” by its previous owner, it’s gotta go fast.

In the past, this was an 8-second drag car. Its new owner, Marcus, brought it down to Rick & his team at DRP in Green Cove Springs, Florida with the goal of achieving those 8-second passes again. Rick and his team are no strangers to 8-second Subarus, as their old drag car Patriot was consistently in the mid-8s.

I was tasked with the wiring & electronics package. After sitting down and coming up with a plan with the team, I believe we have a really solid plan and will be using some of the best gear on the market to meet and exceed Marcus’ expectations and aspirations.

Over the next couple of months we will be working on this alongside the rest of the projects we have in-house and abroad. I’m very grateful to have a busy summer.

It's no secret that we utilize OEM connectors in some of our products, but they don't have to be an eyesore. We make custom backshells for many of the OEM Connectors we use. Here are three examples we've made that go in some of our Subaru Plug and Play kits:
