Not sure if he already had lunch, and was looking for more, but while I was taking these portraits, he was enjoying a piece of pineapple left on the stairs, and whatever food was left on the plate.

As Michael put it: “When looking at this view I can’t help but to think, are we the animals in the cage or are they? We can leave freely and they are locked out. They are probably hungry and us full.. they stare at us in awe as we do them… it is a mind twist for me as I don’t know if it is wrong for us to take pictures or them to stare at us? Maybe it’s a fair exchange… but for us we get to leave this cage and for them they are stuck in theirs for life..”

He is one of the orphans at Rael

His mother abandoned him because he is physically disabled, and his father is out of the picture (very common problem in Kenya). He lives with his grandmother now, and has a sponsor in the Czech Republic that ensures that he can attend school.

This is Aisha and she is only one year and a few months old 👋 while she is too young to go to school yet, her and her mom came to join the community meeting to learn what
has done so far and decide on the next priorities for the project.
