Congrats, Corbin!

Corbin Montenegro, junior in music education, has received funding awards from the College of Arts and Sciences as well as the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance to travel to Pasadena, CA this summer. He will work with the Pasadena Chorale as they premiere his new work, "Oración Española" on June 20.

Summer Choral Institute at Kansas State University is a nationally renowned leadership and choral music training program. 50 high school freshmen-juniors from across the nation will receive a full scholarship to attend July 20-25 PLUS a $1,000 college scholarship commitment to sing at Kansas State University.

The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Kansas State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Voice. This nine-month, tenure track position carries primary responsibility for undergraduate and graduate applied voice instruction and related coursework and offers the opportunity to join a voice area comprising four additional faculty.

The successful candidate will maintain an active studio of undergraduate and graduate voice students and contribute to the artistic, pedagogical, and recruiting missions of the voice area and the School. Teaching responsibilities may include applied voice, voice class, and other courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise and programmatic needs.

The K-State Concert Choir is holding open auditions for all voice parts for the Spring 2026 semester. Sign up at k-state.edu/choirs for a 5-minute audition slot on January 21 or 22. You will be asked to sing a short selection of your choosing and Dr. Bunce may have you sing additional vocal exercises.

Those who audition will be notified about callback auditions by the evening of Wednesday, January 21.

Students enrolled in Concert Choir in Fall 2025 who wish to be considered for Spring 2026 may skip the initial audition process and simply come to callback auditions.

Callback auditions will be held Thursday, January 22 from 1:05-2:20pm in McCain Room 204 (aka Kirmser Hall).

Check your schedule! Concert Choir rehearses Mon/Wed 1:30-2:20pm and Tues/Thurs 1:05-2:20. Enrollment is for 0-1 credit.
