🚶🏼| i took my first, albeit short, official photo walk of 2026 yesterday. since having foot surgery in december, i’ve only recently been able to drive around town & pick a morning parking spot at the square, taking what shots i can while the world goes on with its day. i went back to & walked around the outpost, the community’s main amenity hub & gathering space. i spent some time following lines & symmetry as the shadows shifted with the sun, & was reminded how nice it is to be outside again.

perspective hits different when life makes you slow down. i had foot surgery in december & just now got cleared to drive again. walking on my own will still take time, & sitting at this desk has been my view for weeks. i’ve spent a lot of time here - thinking, creating, overthinking - wondering if i’m doing enough or falling behind. but i’m starting to see that the pause has a purpose. you’re not stuck; you’re being prepared. pay attention, write it down, sit still, repeat. sometimes the stillness is what shapes what’s next.

i snagged an og rx1 a few weeks ago & i’ve just now starting snapping around the house. this has been my view from my recording desk lalety & couldn’t help but take a shot.

🍁 | that one time i showed up to work to record some live audio & the band happened to be not only are they the best of the best, as you’d expect they are some of the nicest guys, too. for sixty solid minutes we were treated to tones, tunes, & harmonies that sound great on my AirPods on a ruck but is a next-level experience to be in the room. hands down one of those nights that will stick with me for a long time.

thankful for the moments when a work trip turns into an anniversary trip with . we took the big apple by storm packing in as many miles as possible in just a few short days eating our way through most of manhattan. we’ll celebrate ten years in a few days & it’s still wherever forever with you, boo.

i’ve spent the better part of 5 or so years looking over the shoulder of Dean Xu watching him photograph anything from people to pavement with the same enthusiasm for the craft. he’s championined & inspired myself, as well as many others, to pick up a camera - but what he’s taught us by his example is that it’s always about the people. nothing more inspiring than to see that in action time & time again.
