Emergency crews responded to a fire near the K-State Dairy Unit early this morning after multiple storage buildings caught fire north of the Manhattan campus.

No people or animals were injured, though several storage buildings and their contents were destroyed. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Kansas State Fire Marshal and K-State Fire Marshal.

At this time, grain and feed storage bins continue to smolder, and fire personnel remain on scene to fully extinguish the fire and monitor conditions due to high winds.

K-State appreciates the prompt response from emergency personnel, as well as from faculty and staff across numerous university units.
