Driving by and I had to stop and visit the Holy Cross Theological School in Boston. What a beautiful college and chapel! It was founded at 1937 and opened in 1968. Today it has become one of the most important institutions of the Eastern Orthodox Church in the West.

Today I decided the day off for an adventure. Hopped on the train to Princeton. What a treasure I have found! Princeton is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United States. It was founded in 1746. I think I’m in love with this place...

Business coaching is a process used to take a business from where it is now to where the business owner wants it to be.
Those are the 4 main steps to business coaching:

1-Ask the person: Where are you? Where do you want to be?
2-Trigger and help to find the solution: What are your options?
3-Lay down the plan: What steps will you take?
4-Close the loop: Give feedback and prompt self-reflection

The business coaching process is crucial to move the business in the right direction where the resistance to change is dissolved.

My school of thought about business coaching is that the person who is being coached has all the answers.
The role of a leader, a business coach is to help and trigger the employee to find that answer. , ,

Go to the place, observe the process and talk with people. The Japanese word for this action is : Gemba.
So why Gemba walks are important to do. Here are 4 reasons why you should perform YOUR GEMBA WALK:
1- See What is Happening and make your own observation.
2- Set the example for leaders, managers and supervisors to do so.
3-It’s a chance to talk with employees, to hear about the problems they are having and opportunities to make it better.
4- To note any discrepancy in the process.

2-A Team who is given the authority to make decision to impact Key Process Indicators metrics
3- A Team who is rewarded for their individual and team results

A team takes some time to come together and build synergy. There are 4 main phases of team development:
1- Forming phase: which I like to call the honeymoon phase. The team members get to know each other.
2- Storming phase: In this phase team members start having arguments about leadership, strategy, and goals.
3- Norming phase: Trust is finally gained, and “when the trust account is high, communication is easy, instant, and effective.”
4- Performing phase: Once cohesiveness is achieved, the team will finally move to a performing phase where everybody is moving for a shared goal and direction.

Thinking to develop a strategy for process improvement. My recommendation to you is to lay the ground of your entire process and review each activity by asking the following questions:

1-Does the activity add sufficient value?
2-Can the activity be eliminated?
3-Can the activity be completed in less time?
4-Can the activity be completed at less cost?
5-Could another area/person better perform the activity?
6-Can the activity be simplified, reduced, or changed?
