Day 27 - Day trip to the north, exploring the Valle de Baztán and the Zugarramurdi on the French border. It was hot and humid, but we walked through the caves, visited a rural Quesería to learn about Navarra’s sheep’s milk cheese (Idiazábal), enjoyed lunch on the French/Spanish border, and stopped in Elizondo on the way back to Pamplona.

Day 26 - It was our last day of Spanish classes already! We had our “digital storytelling festival,” took pictures with our classes, and then enjoyed a free afternoon for visiting the Museo de Navarra, getting a “menú del día” or other fun foods, and of course siesta, resting up for our day trip (and the head!) tomorrow.

Day 25 - Nearing the end of our 3rd week of classes! After class we had a special “paella” lunch, celebrated Jack’s 21st birthday (felicidades!!!), and despite the heat, several of us made it back to campus to learn how to play variations of “Pelota vasca,” and rewarded ourselves with ice cream after. We ended the day with our final 🥲 Juevintxo!

Day 24 - After Spanish class this morning we had a free afternoon to work on our projects, which included handing out surveys on vaccination attitudes and visiting preserved historical buildings to examine restoration architecture. We’re facing a heat wave this week, so we’re also trying to stay cool with ice cream, shopping where there’s AC, and afternoon siestas!

Day 23 - Wrapped up our final K-State class after Spanish class this morning. We had a free afternoon to work on our projects, get a few more games of "Pádel" at the courts on campus, and try some new restaurants in Pamplona!

Day 22 - After our Spanish classes today, we went to a Flamenco class at a dance study in town; another love/hate activity for many of us! After our dance class, we went with Rosa (our student leader) to watch Spain's world cup game at a local bar/restaurant near the university.
