In recent months, as commercial leases dry up and in-person work requirements seem to be softer and favor hybrid participation, Manhattan continues to shrink. Interestingly, I find more tourists on the streets in midtown that residents. What was once considered a luxury in Manhattan, has now gone beyond. When you kept a car in the city before congestion pricing, you might venture out of the garage to perform some mundane task like pick your kids up from school or drive them to some sporting event occurring around the city....

Initiating congestion pricing in the middle of winter was like kicking city dwellers in a stomach after punching them in the face. Let me explain.... New congestion pricing goes into effect and boom, nothing happened because it's Sunday! This coming week is going to test the system and be met with some anger among some groups in NYC.
Personally, I think I'll ride my bike to work :)
Oh, and the PEVs are going to be broken out of closets after a long rest post-COVID. If this lasts, PEVs use have to rise. If PEV use rises, the city better not enforce licensing as this would then make every possible transportation alternative no longer viable.
I have a great idea! The city should subsidize bike share services for residents. Why? Well, if you live here you know that the subway and bus is not always the best way to get around all the time. Citi Bike prices have risen beyond reasonable.
Come on Ho-Ho-Hokul, start thinking or someone call Cuomo and get his butt back.
