I wanted to share in full this very moving, and personal, piece of film I discovered a few years ago on some of my dad’s old tapes. I have lifted this speech and added it to the end of Missing You, a song I wrote with about grief, love and loss.

It goes without saying that even in this brief video you can see what an incredibly man my dad, Toby, was. He was such a talented painter, sculptor, artist & psychotherapist. He had a passion for life that has shaped my own very deeply.

I wanted to share his words in full, as we’ve cut it a little bit to fit the song.

I have been very moved by the comments over on tiktok on this song. people sharing their very personal stories about lost loved ones, and particularly parents that died when they were young. I feel very humbled, and this is all I could ask for as a songwriter. wanted to share. x

wrote a song about wanting to share your life with someone who isn’t around anymore & have wanted to write about that for a while. me and got in the studio and made this together & it says everything I’ve wanted to say for a while. I give u ‘Missing You’. X
