Kamryn, from the Wild West District, is our State 4-H Project Award Recipient in the Beef Project. ๐Ÿฎ
In her own words: "The 4-H Beef Project has allowed me countless opportunities during the past nine years, representing so much more than time in the show ring โ€” encompassing a deep commitment to growing as a producer, a leader, and an ambassador for an industry I truly love. Through these experiences, I've been able to develop my personal knowledge, problem-solving, ingenuity, organizational and communication skills, that will serve me forever. I've assumed additional duties at my family's custom grow yard to increase my knowledge of this sector of the beef industry, while also slowly building my own small breeding herd. Though I've enjoyed time in and around the show ring, my true growth was realized when I began taking on leadership and citizenship roles within the project in order to increase education and awareness involving the benefits of beef. I've found creative ways to share my passion for this industry โ€” from interactive cattle showcases to using high-quality beef to celebrate hometown heroes โ€” while placing a positive spotlight on an industry I hold dear and sharing my project with people of all ages and backgrounds. Beef continues to bring people together, and I'm proud to be a part of that story! Kamryn was awarded her State Awrd at the Emerald Circle Banquet on June 4, 2026.

Anthony from Cowley County is our State 4-H Project Award Recipient in Agronomy. ๐Ÿšœ
In his own words: "As a young boy, I always loved riding on the tractor and combine with my dad, watching the land come to life and wondering how it all worked. Those early conversations about planting and harvesting sparked a passion that began my journey in the agronomy project. My first year, I only exhibited wheat, but this year I exhibited wheat, corn, soybeans, and different types of hay โ€” and each year I have gained more knowledge and hands-on skills. I know that I will continue to learn more about agronomy as I grow and pursue my dream of one day farming that same land!"
Anthony received his State Award at the Emerald Circle Banquet on June 4, 2026 -Congratulations, Anthony!

Dr. Dan Moser, Dean of Agriculture, was the featured speaker of the evening. His speech was very intuitive and thought provoking about the future workforce and opportunities that lie ahead for our youth. Dave Lewis, our Master of Ceremonies and supplied us with an evening of entertainment and lots of belly laughs!
