If you knew Brody as a puppy, you know… this boy came with extra batteries installed. 😂

This 2-year old Australian Shepherd was a full-force puppy tornado with big feelings, and big energy.

Fast forward to today… and look at him now.

Brody stepped into the ring and showed everyone what all that drive and enthusiasm can become with time, teamwork, and training.

The results of today’s show in Hutchinson:
🏆 Conformation: 1st place in his class
🐾 Rally Obedience: 96/100!

The same spark that made him a whirlwind as a puppy is the same spark that makes him shine today. At Muttschool, we don’t take the personality out of our dogs. We help them learn how to use all that brilliance for good. ✨

Way to go, Brody and Karen!

Achilles is, in fact, 100% good boy.

Yesterday he hung out on a restaurant patio with me (Mary), Kate, GraceAnn, and her dog and he was fantastic. Calmly laying by my chair, watching the world go by, making excellent life choices, and accepting compliments and pets from strangers (including kids)like it was his full-time job.

So… now that his DNA results are back, let’s make this fun. 👀

DROP YOUR GUESSES BELOW for what breeds and percentages make up Achilles.

I’ll give you a hint: the results were not surprising AT ALL once we saw them. Suddenly everything made sense. The squirrels, the silliness, the “thoughts still buffering…” expression, all of it. 😂

Reminder: Achilles is still looking for his forever family. PM me directly if you are interested in this 2-year old, 100% good dog…

Good dog day today. 🐾

Today I (Mary) stepped back into the dog show world showing an Australian Shepherd I’ve been working with for over a year. This is the same dog who used to struggle being near other dogs and was once a wild and crazy little Aussie puppy. Fast forward…Today was his very first conformation show!

He rocked it. First in his class, but most of all, I couldn’t be more proud of his behavior and progress. ❤️

And the other good dog news kept coming when I picked up my mail… Naka, my Hokkaido Ken, officially received his Trick Dog Performer certificate in the mail today!

Such a fun reminder of how far these dogs can go when training becomes something they truly love.

Happy National Pet Day 🐾💛

Today we celebrate the ones who make our lives fuller, happier, and just a little more chaotic (in the best way). From the goofy zoomies to the quiet cuddles, every moment with your dog is something special.

At Muttschool, we’re proud to be part of your journey. Helping build confidence, communication, and lifelong bonds between you and your pup.

Give your dog an extra treat, an extra walk, and maybe even start something new together. There’s no better day to invest in your best friend.

Ready to strengthen your bond? Let’s get training 🐶✨

“My dog won’t calm down…”
We hear this all the time.

Most people try to fix it with more exercise.
More walks. More running. More stimulation.

But that’s not what’s missing.
Dogs like Achilles don’t need more output…
they need a way to use their brain. They need a job.

Before: Achilles was frustrated, overwhelmed, and insecure. Maybe this is one reason he's had multiple homes in his short two years!
One month later: He's been thinking, working, and he's noticeably more focused and calmer.

That’s the difference between just feeding your dog…
and actually meeting their needs.

We don’t just teach sit and down—we show you how to prevent problems before they start.

📅 Start with an evaluation, and your MuttSchool trainers will build a plan for you and your dog:

🚨 Stop the Rumors! 🚨

No, MuttSchool isn’t closed. A building is just a building. Your MuttSchool trainers aren’t going anywhere. (Well, one of us might sneak off to DisneyWorld next month—but she has definitely earned it.)

Dog trainers love training dogs. We didn’t necessarily love all the other stuff that came with maintaining a huge facility. We did it because it allowed us to do what we love—even if it meant longer hours and hard work.

After much reflection, we realized NOW is the perfect time to retire everything that comes with a brick-and-mortar training facility (unless another perfect facility falls in our lap). Which means we’re evolving, turning to a new chapter, hanging up the janitor hat, and leaving the facility maintenance behind. Yes! That means no more daily cleaning!

But don't fear, MuttSchool lives on! We’re bringing private lessons and evaluations to YOU (travel fees may apply), with all the real-life results and MuttSchool magic you've come to expect. We'll happily train your dog—and leave all the maintenance and cleaning for... well, let's just say... we're thrilled it's not on our To-Do list right now. 😄

🐾 We’re here. We’re ready. And we’re still putting the GOOD in good dog.

We did it! Everything is moved out of the Skyway Drive building.

After weeks of packing, sorting, lifting, and discovering muscles we didn’t even know existed, our boxes of supplies and equipment are finally stored. We’ve downsized furniture, gear, and more random dog toys than we can count. Who knew dog trainers could collect this much stuff?

But the chaos was worth it! Tomorrow is a brand-new year and MuttSchool is off on a new adventure!

In 2026, we’ll still be helping dogs and their people succeed, just in a slightly different way than before. Private lessons will happen in client homes and other locations while we line up our next training space. Same heart, same expertise, same mission — just a little more mobile.

So grab your party hats and raise a toast to 2026. The boxes may be stacked, but the fun, learning, and adventures are just getting started! Happy New Year!🥂
