🌿 Passionflower: More Than Just Beauty 🌿

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) is famous for its stunning flowers, but its history as an herbal ally goes back centuries.

The leaves, stems, and flowers contain naturally occurring flavonoids, including vitexin, isovitexin, orientin, and apigenin. These compounds have been studied for their interaction with the body’s GABA system—a neurotransmitter pathway involved in relaxation, stress response, and sleep regulation.

Researchers believe this is one of the reasons passionflower has traditionally been used to support relaxation, occasional nervous tension, and restful sleep.

The aerial portions of the plant—the leaves, stems, and flowers—are the parts most commonly used in herbal preparations. While the fruit is edible and enjoyed for its tropical flavor, it contains a different profile of compounds than the portions typically used in herbalism.

One of the things we find fascinating about passionflower is that it combines beauty, ecology, and herbal tradition all in one plant. The intricate blooms attract pollinators, the vines grow vigorously through the summer, and the plant itself contains a remarkable collection of naturally occurring phytochemicals.

We’ve recently harvested fresh passionflower from our own plants and have a passionflower tincture currently steeping as part of our upcoming tincture line. More details coming in the next few weeks!

One of our most requested herbs- soursop leaves have been enjoyed traditionally throughout tropical regions for generations and can be steeped into a mild, earthy tea. We currently have whole leaves available, along with our popular leaf and fruit powder blend.

🤍 SYNGONIUM ALBO

Elegant white variegation, easy care, and fast growth make this one of our favorite climbing plants. No two leaves are exactly alike, with each plant developing its own unique pattern.

⭐ MONSTERA THAI CONSTELLATION

Creamy splashes and speckles of variegation across every leaf make this plant look like a night sky full of stars. A true collector’s plant that continues to impress as it matures.

🌸 MENOPAUSE SUPPORT

A thoughtfully crafted blend featuring sage, lemon balm, red clover, peppermint, chamomile, nettle leaf, rose petals, and licorice root. Herbaceous, cooling, and balanced, this blend was created to support comfort and wellbeing during menopause.

One of the most striking philodendrons around. New leaves emerge bright white before gradually hardening off through shades of mint and green, giving the plant its signature “ghostly” appearance. We currently have a small selection available!

🐍 BANTEL’S SENSATION SNAKE PLANT

Did you know this elegant snake plant originated right here in St. Louis? Developed by Gustav Bantel in the 1940s, Bantel’s Sensation remains one of the most recognizable snake plant cultivars thanks to its narrow leaves and distinctive silver striping.

🌱 VARIEGATED MONSTERA LECHLERIANA

Fast-growing, fenestrated, and highly sought after. The creamy variegation makes every leaf unique, creating a stunning contrast against the deep green foliage.

☕ GOLDEN LATTE ANYONE?

Our Honey Roasted Turmeric Ginger is back! We slowly roast ginger with honey, turmeric, and black pepper for a rich, warming cup. Black pepper naturally contains piperine, which helps the body absorb curcumin—the primary beneficial compound found in turmeric.
