Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy every day and their legacy will never be forgotten.
On this Memorial Day, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
May we always remember the true meaning of this day; honor, sacrifice, and remembrance.

Attending the inaugural presentation of the Kansas Order of the Sunflower was a meaningful reminder of what can happen when people come together with shared purpose. Seeing Laura Kelly alongside legislators from both sides of the aisle highlighted something we do not always see enough of, genuine bipartisanship focused on honoring those who serve and sacrifice.
What stood out most was the recognition of military spouses and families. Service does not happen in isolation. It is carried by entire families who endure long separations, constant transitions, and the uncertainty that comes with military life. Their resilience is the quiet backbone of our armed forces, and moments like this, while small compared to their daily sacrifices, matter deeply.
Congrats to Michelle Rone on being the first recipient!
