✈️ This Week in Aviation History ✈️

June 17, 1929 marked Delta Air Service's very first passenger flight!

Route: Dallas → Shreveport → Monroe → Jackson
Distance: 427 miles in 5 hours (including a lunch stop!)
Pilot: J.D. "Johnny" Howe, one of America's first commercially licensed pilots
Passenger: Delta Operations Manager John S. Fox, with the first paying customer boarding two days later!

📍 Did You Know?
• In 1929, a one-way ticket from Dallas to Jackson cost $47.25, which inflates to $900. But a one-way flight priced today is less than $200!
• Delta's first headquarters was in Monroe, Louisiana, but as the airline expanded north, its headquarters moved to Atlanta in 1941.
• In 1945, Delta Air Service officially became Delta Air Lines.

From one small aircraft carrying just a handful of passengers to one of the world's largest airlines, every journey starts with a first flight️.

✈️ Who was your first flight with?
