As we honor Labor Day, Manhattanites should always demand fair wages and workplace protections for their work.

When employers cheat their workers of their hard-earned pay and benefits, that’s stealing — and it’s illegal.

I created the office’s first Worker Protection Unit to fight wage theft and unsafe workplace conditions. The office has returned hundreds of thousands of dollars of unpaid wages to employees over the past four years, and improved working conditions across our borough.

As your DA, I’ll never stop holding bad-faith employers accountable to protect our workers.

From working with law enforcement to target those driving violent crime, to launching new mental health initiatives and investing in community services, we are doing the work to make Manhattan safer.

There is still much more work to do, and we aren’t satisfied. But our comprehensive strategy is delivering results, and it’s how we achieve the safety we need, and the justice we deserve.

We have 75 days to go until Election Day! I’m so proud of what this grassroots campaign has accomplished so far — and grateful to have such incredible volunteers with me and lifting me every step of the way.

Now, we turn to the general election and 75 days fly faster than you’d think. My team and I will be working as hard as we can to spread our message of safety, fairness, and justice across Manhattan.

This high-quality, victim-centered, dedicated s*x crimes unit never stops pursuing justice for survivors of r**e and s*xual assault. And we remain unyielding in bringing those who commit s*x crimes to justice - no matter how rich and powerful they may be.
