There will be lots to buy from our vendors, great food from local restaurants and a massage therapist to help you with your neck, back or whatever ails you. Stay in touch by clicking Like so we can keep you informed. It's gonna be a great crop!

Dear Friends,

We hope everyone had a great Christmas, New Year and holiday season.

The past few months have been ones of reflection and we have been evaluating what we want to do with Scrap Dat. In September we had very little number of registrations. That low number, along with Covid and the after affects of Ida which made the Castine Center unavailable for us, we had to cancel our September event. That basically showed us the writing on the wall. Sadly, we have decided to close down Scrap Dat.

It has been a fun event for us and hopefully for you all as well. We have had some great times. Looking at those positive things, however, cannot sustain us. Our numbers keep getting lower. Our vendors are pulling out because they feel we don’t have enough shoppers or the spending from the attendees they need to have in order to justify vending at the event. The months leading up to an event require a great number of hours of planning, prep, purchasing, designing, marketing and accounting for us. The timing of the crop in March also presents conflict in our personal life.

So, it is with great sadness that we have decided that Scrap Dat will come to its end. We want to thank all our loyal croppers who supported us every event. We love you and hope we can join you in future events elsewhere.

Thanks for the memories.

Dat’s a wrap.

Sincerely,
Beth and Christine

A kind lady called us because she has at least 3 boxes of printed fabric that she would like to donate to anyone who would like it. She said it mostly cotton/ polyester blend to make clothes. If you are interested I can give you her name and phone number. She lives in Mandeville off Hwy 22.

First and foremost, we hope that you all are safe from Hurricane Ida. We know that there was damage, loss of electricity, water, and huge messes to clean up. Some evacuated and have not been back yet and then some who either stayed or came back have discovered what the storm left for them. We are praying for you all. Because of the needs of our area, the Castine Center and Pelican Park have become a staging area for electrical workers and crews to help those in need. They have been told that the responders will be there until 9/30. Because of this and other reasons that fed into the decision, we have to cancel Scrap Dat 9/30-10/2/2021. All that have paid will be refunded. We just need a few days to get it all taken care of so please be patient. We will give more info about our March 24-26, 2022 event soon. May God keep you all safe and meet your needs. Beth and Christine

To all our Scrap Datters who are in the path of Ida, stay safe, be smart and we are praying for you. Remember if you evacuate either bring your albums and pics with you or put them in water tight containers up high. We've been through this rodeo a few times so we know what to do.

After a day or rest, I want to thank all of you who attended our event this past weekend. It was so good to be social, to see old friends and make new ones, to be creative, laugh and have a great time. Hopefully you all had the same experience. Thanks to our vendors- Sandy Trammell, Connie Arceneaux and Theresa Hall, and to Jill Landry our massage therapist. Thanks to my partner in all of this and more, the talented decorator and creative Christine Marchese, for all she did, does and all she puts into the events. Congratulations to Melissa Lee in winning the Early Bird drawing, Tonia Bates in winning the mixed media contest and to Susan Knight Magee in winning the raffle for a free full weekend registration to our event September 30- October 2. 2021. Registration will be up soon for the fall event. And now I have to unload my car. Bee blessed y’all. Beth
