Headed to the Broad Brook Opera House to see Elvis - (aka Bobby Scandura) in the “Bobby Sings Elvis” show. I’m Bobby’s vocal coach.
He is backed by The Suspicious Mindz band. They are excellent!!! Shout out to Bobby, one of my all-time favorite singers!

Live Shows Re-established in 2018, the Broad Brook Opera House is now a venue for different events ranging from weddings and private events to live music shows.

We are congratulating MusicMakers Academy alumnus, and our director Paula Penna's daughter, Maya Penna-Scheer on her engagement to Daniel Christie! The happy couple both graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts this year, with Maya majoring in Film Production and Daniel majoring in Film Sound Editing. Congratulations to both! They both currently live in North Carolina and will soon head to Los Angeles, California to start their film careers!

Congratulations to MusicMakers Alumnus (Mini-MusicMakers, harp and violin, 2004-2015) Maya Penna-Scheer. Maya just earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Filmmaking, concentration in Producing! Maya attended the prestigious University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC! UNCSA is a top 10 worldwide film school. Maya is the daughter of our Director, Paula Penna.

Maya most recently worked on the film “A Little Prayer” which was presented at Sundance this past January. The film has been picked up by Sony for worldwide distribution. 🎬👩‍🎓🎓🎬

For the first time since before the pandemic, I have hired a new teacher to work with me at MusicMakers! This teacher will be on Zoom only, as she is down in North Carolina. I cannot wait to mentor this up and coming music educator! So if you need a violin or viola teacher and love the Zoom platform, please let me know! She can teach people ANYWHERE, since it will be all online! Keely's students will still participate in all of our MusicMakers Academy events and recitals, and will have all the rights and goodies that our in-person students receive, including the student-only portal, virtual ensemble experiences, and more!
