The Beginning:

I took my first official pottery course at the University of New Hampshire in 2010, where I was studying to become an Art Teacher. Honestly, I found clay to be very difficult to work with (and sometimes to this day, I still do). For the sake of needing to pass the course, and also not wanting to give up, I forced myself to get along with clay and the wheel. I used my frustrations a

Social media has been hard for me lately. Every time I try to post, share, or even just attempt to scroll and support others, I get overwhelmed and shut the app. But I’m still here, and still creating. I’m spending every free moment in the basement studio lately as I prep for the annual HDHS craft fair. I have made so many trees, gnomes and ornaments. I’m wrapping up mugs and other functional wares this weekend. Can’t wait to share the new work soon.

Cheers to the upcoming weekend and a really good glaze firing yesterday. I still have all the mugs to glaze and probably two more firings left to go, but a website restock is almost here! Morgan and I are off on a little annual float trip tomorrow, so things will be put on pause till Sunday/Monday. Hope you are as excited as me.

Living my best life this summer. In between all the fun, I have found time to work/play in the studio. Today I’m escaping the heat and spending the day in there. Pulling handles, attaching & carving is on the list today!

Saturday mornings are for plant care. I spend a few moments checking soil, removing any dead leaves, and watering the ones that need it. Today I swapped my usual plastic watering can for one of the smaller ceramic pitchers that I recently made. It instantly elevated the whole experience. I like to think the plants appreciated the upgrade too.

While cleaning off my studio desk the other day, I found some small ceramic shapes I had made back in 2018 (ish?) for clay wall hangings. Instead of letting them collect dust for another five years, I decided to add them into a new weaving. I’m loving the mix of textures and materials. This new one will be coming with me on Saturday!
