An experienced team of educators from Beacon College who specialize in identifying and promoting academic success in students with learning difficulties, will be speaking just 18 days from now in the UAE.
Meet the Speakers: Pam Tapley
Ms. Tapley has demonstrated a passion for education obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.
In addition to classroom teaching experience at the elementary level, Pam has been a curriculum specialist in both elementary and middle school environments. She is renowned as a “change agent”, developing and revising curriculum, instruction and programs at all levels to ensure success for all students. During a high school campus renovation, which she designed and oversaw, Pam developed a Lab School to foster independent living skills for trainable mentally handicapped students. She also developed a program for students with severe autism. Pam has always been committed to students with learning differences and dedicated to providing the highest quality of education that meets their needs. She is published and shares strategies for changing the climate and culture of schools within a political environment in Learning by Leaders by Rosemarye Taylor.
Pam has served on the College Board Southern Region Council, the ACT State Council for Florida, and currently serves on the Step Up for Students Advisory Council.

The Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties (SCLD) and Beacon College Professional Development Program for Educators will include an experienced team of educators from Beacon College who specialize in identifying and promoting academic success in students with learning difficulties, ADHD, and other learning differences.
Today's featured speaker: Maura Triebenbacher
Ms. Triebenbacher received her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and English from LaSalle University and her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Immaculata University. She has done post master’s graduate level studies in Special Education at Rutgers University and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Interdisciplinary Leadership at Creighton University.
Working in self-contained schools, Maura has taught fifth through eighth grades, written reading curriculum, mentored teachers, and has held the position of principal. Her experience also includes teaching students from 13-21 years old in a school-based partial hospitalization program that provides a clinical and alternative education environment for students diagnosed with significant mental health disorders. She has been a teacher consultant, learning specialist, homeschool teacher, mentor, and middle school teacher.
Currently Maura is Division Head of Middle and Upper School at The Fletcher School, an independent, K-12 college preparatory school in Charlotte, NC for students with specific learning differences and/or ADHD.
