As we enter the summer season, we want to wish our Mokse community a happy June and Pride Month! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Pride Month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, while also recognizing the ongoing barriers many LGBTQ+ people still face. For LGBTQ+ individuals impacted by incarceration, those barriers can be even heavier, including stigma, isolation, safety concerns, and limited access to affirming support.
This month, we are holding space for both joy and reflection as we continue working toward education, dignity, and support for communities too often overlooked.
Today, Mokse pauses to honor and remember the service members who gave their lives in service to our country.
Memorial Day is not only a long weekend. It is a day of remembrance, gratitude, and reflection. We recognize the families, friends, and communities who carry those losses forward, and we hold space for the weight of that sacrifice.
At Mokse, we believe in building pathways, opening doors, and strengthening communities. Today, we do that with deep respect for those who never made it home.
From all of us at Mokse Educational Services, thank you to the fallen, the families, and all who remember them today.

Attending national conversations matters, especially when student workers are helping shape the future of justice-focused community work.
This June, Mokse Educational Services is hoping to send student workers to New York City.
Student workers play a crucial role at Mokse, and we believe opportunities should extend beyond the classroom through real-world experience and conversation. This experience would allow our team to connect with justice reform leaders and national organizations, explore collaboration opportunities, and bring fresh ideas and resources back to the communities we serve.
We are working toward a campaign goal of $950, so student workers can contribute to these important discussions surrounding reentry, education, and community integration work.
Donations will be used to help cover:
- Conference registration
- Transportation
- Lodging
Community sponsors will be recognized through conference-related social media posts and sponsor acknowledgment at our conference table.
