Today, June 23rd, marks International Women in Engineering Day!

It’s a day to recognize the achievements of women in engineering and encourages more women to pursue engineering careers.

Another project done! Granite was able to provide the design, permitting, construction inspections and as-built drawing review for this project down in Wilmington, MA. This project involved merging three lots and creating a long term storage area for fleet vehicles and tractor trailers, complete with an underground stormwater management system. Last month we welcomed Wendy Hawco to our team 🤩

Wendy graduated from Woman’s Technical Institute in 1987 and started her CAD career at an Engineering firm in Boston as a Jr. Drafter. Since then, she has had 38 years of service in the Civil Engineering field. As a CAD Manager she’s developed and implemented CAD standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while training and guiding team members. In June of 2024 Wendy received her CAD Manager Mastery Certificate. She has assisted in the design of athletic complexes, residential housing and distribution centers among other various civil projects.

We are very excited to have Wendy as part of our team, helping us draft plans more efficiently!

Granite team members John and Kim returned to their alma mater yesterday to participate in a local job fair. It was a great opportunity to educate high school students on the field of civil engineering and land development. Thanks to Central High School for hosting a great event!
