Mexico's 204 year anniversary of Independence Day .
And to celebrate we are combining our 28th anniversary 🥳🥳
We will have a mariachi band and promos.

Before 1848, the land on both sides of the Rio Grande in this photo was the same country. 🌄 The Mexican-American War ended with Mexico losing over half of its national territory, land that would eventually become California, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado and Wyoming, an area larger than most modern European nations combined.
For the families already living on that land, the border didn't move them, it moved around them overnight, turning longtime Mexican citizens into a new category almost without their consent. Many of those same families remained on their ancestral land for generations afterward, their descendants still living in the exact same towns their great-great-grandparents once called part of Mexico. This history rarely gets the attention it deserves in American classrooms, despite reshaping the entire map of North America.
Some borders were drawn by treaty, but the land, the culture, and the families never fully separated the way the map suggests. 🗺️
