Even pre-war shipping rates were getting up there to the point where I needed to look at adjusting shipping rates. It used to be the flat $5 shipping charge covered USPS and the PayPal fee for most areas I ship to with smaller orders. Today I mailed a "Spring Special" to a customer and PayPal nabbed me for a $1.71 transaction fee and it was just under $7.00 for postage. USPS also announced an upcoming 8% increase. It will take a while for me to adjust this, create new PayPal buttons for the website etc. but wanted to make you aware that I will be raising the shipping rates at some point in the next few weeks.

It seems there are a lot of people in the flutter spoon supply chain these days and folks seem to be happy with the single swivel and cheap hooks for $5 to $7 more per spoon but the bottom line is sourcing the blanks is a pain with unpredictable prices. I still have a few left of each pattern and will take them off the website once they are gone.

The good news is: Salt Water Edge in Middletown, RI has plenty as does Perkins Marine in Essex, MA

The ski season melting away is a sure sign that our shipping dept. will be off the mountain and back to work ready to fulfill orders. With this in mind, the folks in the marketing dept. have agreed it’s time for a “Spring Special”. FYI Folks,

I will be listing this on FB Marketplace and eBay soon but thought I would give it a try here in case anyone is interested in picking up a trailer this year. This is a Malone Mirco Sport with a retractable tongue. I converted it to what Malone now calls a “Low Bed” trailer several years ago before they offered the Low Bed model (Works much better for the big kayaks)

Trailer has maybe 3k miles on it if that and the wheels have NEVER been submerged in salt or fresh water. Bunks and spare tire are included. Similar trailer new from Malone is ~ $2,600 bare and with bunks/spare tire it’s over $3k

I’ll let is go here for $1,200 and throw in 2 tubes if anyone is interested. This thing tows great and no sand and salt get on your car. 😉

I’d keep it but part of my sales pitch to my lovely wife in support of me getting a new truck was that I would not need the kayak trailer any more. 😉 😉

I typically don’t share info on donations etc. but in this case, I am compelled to do so. Capt. Fil is one of us. He was on the Ocean Kayak team back when Ocean Kayak and Wilderness System dominated the kayak fishing market. He’s put more people on fish than most of us put together.
