Happy Father’s Day to pet dads who:

🐾 Say “we’re just going for a quick walk”
🐾 Are always willing to pay the cheese tax
🐾 Have 7,000 photos of their pets on their phone
🐾 Swear they never wanted a pet in the first place
🐾 Somehow end up sharing their half of the bed

We see you and so do your grateful fur babies ❤️

National Microchipping Month is a great reminder to make sure your pet’s microchip information is up to date. 🐾

Even the most careful pet parents can experience the unexpected, and a registered microchip can help reunite lost pets with their families faster. If your pet already has a microchip, take a moment to confirm your contact information is current. If they are not microchipped yet, talk with your veterinarian about this simple and permanent form of identification.

A microchip can make all the difference when every moment counts. ❤️

📣Notice of Temporary Facility Closure📣

To better serve our community, VRC will be temporarily closed for scheduled infrastructure upgrades.

The temporary closure will take place overnight Tuesday June 16th at 12:00am until 6:00am that morning.

During this time, plans and protocols are in place to ensure all hospitalized patients continue to receive appropriate care and monitoring. There will be no changes to our in-house capabilities following the completion of this work, and we anticipate normal operations resuming immediately upon reopening.

For emergency cases during our temporary closure (12:00AM – 6:00AM on June 16th), we encourage you to reach out to the following 24-hour emergency hospitals available in the region:

• BluePearl Pet Hospital – Malvern
• Metropolitan Veterinary Associates (MVA) – Norristown
• Pinnacle Veterinary Specialist – Glen Mills
• Red Bank Veterinary Hospital – Mount Laurel, NJ

We appreciate your understanding as we make these improvements to better serve our patients, clients, and referring veterinary partners.

🐾 Our Rehabilitation veterinarian, Dr. Natalie Campbell, recently had the opportunity to speak with more than 100 local veterinarians and veterinary nurses about caring for senior pets.

The presentation focused on helping aging dogs stay mobile, comfortable, and healthy for as long as possible.
Dr. Campbell shared one of her favorite things to hear from clients: “I haven’t seen them do that in months!”—a reminder of how impactful rehabilitation and proactive care can be for our pets’ quality of life.

She also addressed some of the more difficult conversations that come with caring for senior pets, including recognizing when it may be time to make challenging end-of-life decisions.

Our aging companions hold a special place in our hearts, and we are honored to help educate both pet owners and veterinary professionals on ways to support them through every stage of life. ❤️🐶

Brindi is a 9 year old husky mix who unfortunately suffered a torn CCL, the canine equivalent of a torn ACL.

She recently underwent a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy surgery (TPLO) at VRC with Dr. Cappelle. This orthopedic surgery changes the mechanics of the knee, providing immediate stabilization without relying on a ligament. When the surgery is complete the knee is stabilized with a specialized plate and screws as shown.

Cage rest and wearing a cone are crucial for a fast recovery and minimize chance for complications.
We wanted to take a minute to commend Brindi’s parents on their amazing post-operative set up for their girl! ❤️

Surgical care can often times include physical therapy either before or after a procedure, and our physical therapy team is here to help your pet no matter what stage of recovery they are in.

Arthur Morgan & his parents came to us with a bit of an emergency, Arthur had eaten their AirTag!

Our team at VRC was able to utilize endoscopy to locate, retrieve, and remove the AirTag, sparing Arthur and his family surgery.

Seeing Arthur’s adorable face and reading his parent’s kind words make everything we do worth it!
