Our beautiful Suki has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈💔
We rescued Suki almost a year ago after she had been abandoned and left suffering on the streets with tumors all over her tiny body. She came to us with many health problems, but the hardest battle was cancer.
We removed her eye tumor and that were causing her the most pain and discomfort, not because we could change what was coming, but because we wanted her to feel better and finally enjoy the life she had always deserved.
And she did. ❤️
For almost a year, Suki knew what it meant to be safe, loved, spoiled, and surrounded by people who cared for her every single day.
Suki is one of the reasons we created D&A Animal Rescue. We have a special place in our hearts for the seniors, the sick, and the dogs that others may think are “too old” or “too sick” to save.
Sometimes we know we won’t have years with them. Sometimes we may only have months. But to them, those months can mean everything.
They deserve to know love before they leave this world. They deserve a soft bed, good food, comfort, dignity, and a family beside them until the very end.
After almost a year together, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let our beautiful girl go.
Suki, you are free now. No more pain, no more cancer. Just run, sweet girl. You were deeply loved, and you will always be part of our family. 🌈🐾❤️
Another hot Texas day, but our rescue babies know how to cool off! 💦🐾☀️ Nothing better than splashing around and having fun in the water. 💙
Before asking for help with food, I wanted to show you something. Most of the dogs you see in this video were completely feral.
Some of them took me over a year to earn their trust.
That's why we created D&A Animal Rescue. We rescue many dogs that go on to find amazing families, but our biggest commitment is to the dogs nobody else wants. the ones who have been through so much trauma that it takes months or even years before they realize they're finally safe.
Sadly, many rescues can't keep these dogs because they need the space for the next dog, so too often these dogs end up being euthanized simply because they aren't adoptable.
Many of them will spend the rest of their lives here, surrounded by love and treated like family.
That's why we always need food. We have many permanent residents who depend on us every single day.
If you'd like to help, sending a bag of dog food would mean the world to them. ❤️

This is the face of a rescued dog who finally knows what love feels like.
She spent years living in neglect and abuse, chained up and forced to have litter after litter.
Just look at her now. Her sad, empty eyes have been replaced with eyes full of happiness, trust, and love.
Her smile says everything. ❤️🐾
About 6 weeks ago, I posted this sweet boy after he was abandoned. He was begging every single person for help, but people just kept passing by and ignoring him.
Meet Jack! He is only 10 months old, weighs 22 lbs, and is one of the sweetest, friendliest dogs you'll ever meet.
Jack has now been neutered, is fully vaccinated, and tested heartworm negative. He is officially looking for his forever family!
Please help us find the loving home he deserves by sharing this post.
📍Located in Houston, TX, but we can transport to many other states for the right adopter.(east coast Pacific Northwest)
Here we go again...
Today we took one of our rescue dogs to the vet, and while we were there, a man came in to euthanize his senior dog.
We asked him why.
He told us she constantly pees in the house, and ever since he got a new puppy, she has been trying to bite the puppy.
After examining her, the veterinarian found that she has a severe urinary tract infection, which is very likely the reason she has been constantly urinating.
It's heartbreaking to think she was going to lose her life over a medical condition that can be treated.
So instead of letting her life end today, she came home with us.
Her first vet bill was almost $500. Thankfully, she was already spayed, and we updated her vaccines today.
This was an unexpected expense that we weren't prepared for, but we couldn't leave her behind.
If you'd like to help us cover her vet bill, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps us give dogs like her a second chance.
And if you're looking to adopt, please consider giving a senior dog a chance. They deserve love too. ❤️

I know many of you remember Daniel. ❤️
His amazing family sent us these photos from their 4th of July, and seeing him this happy means everything.
For those who don't remember his story, Daniel came to us after a group of teenagers stabbed him in the shoulder and drew fake eyelashes on his face with a permanent marker.
Today, he's safe, loved beyond words, and living the life he always deserved.
Thank you to his wonderful family for loving him so much. 🐾❤️
It's hard to believe these are the same puppies. ❤️
They came to us as tiny newborns after being rescued with their mama, who was nothing but skin and bones. She was so malnourished that she barely had enough milk to feed them, but together we gave this little family the love, care, and support they needed during their first 12 weeks of life.
Today, more than two years later, these precious babies are living the lives they always deserved.
We still receive updates, and seeing them so happy, healthy, and deeply loved reminds us why every rescue is worth it.
Just look at them now. 🐾❤️
We are forever grateful to our wonderful adopters for giving these babies the loving homes they deserve. ❤️
Another extremely hot day here in Texas! 🥵☀️ The temperatures are so extreme that it's impossible to stay outside with the dogs for long during certain hours of the day.
Thankfully, thanks to our amazing adopters and supporters, our rescue dogs have more kiddie pools to help them stay cool. 💙🐾 They absolutely love them!
Now we have pools set up in different areas throughout the facility, so the dogs can cool off, splash around, and have fun no matter which play yard they're in.
Thank you to everyone who helps us keep our rescue dogs happy, safe, and comfortable during this Texas heat. ❤️
Welcome to D&A Animal Rescue... where rescue dogs get to be dogs. ❤️🐾
This is how our dogs spend their days while they wait for their forever families.
Our senior dogs—the ones who are over 10 years old, have cancer, or other medical conditions—relax on the couch, watch TV, nap in the A/C, and enjoy the sunshine whenever they want. We want them to feel like they have a home, not like they're living in a shelter.
Our younger dogs spend hours running and playing on more than 2 fully fenced acres. They have kiddie pools throughout the property to cool off during the Texas heat, and every single dog sleeps indoors with air conditioning.
We don't keep our dogs in kennels all day. We believe every dog deserves freedom, love, enrichment, and a happy life while they wait for the family they've been dreaming of.
When you support D&A Animal Rescue, this is what you're helping provide.
If you'd like to help, donations are always appreciated, and our Amazon Wish List is always in need of treats and other goodies for our pups. Every little bit makes a difference. ❤️🐶
