Last week, the Maydm team headed to Madison East High School to spend time with the incredible Sisterhood students!

Anjali and Divya led a hands-on mini series on the Science of Selfcare, teaching students how to create their very own hand lotions using basic chemistry and natural ingredients. From emulsifiers to moisturizers, we got to share the experience that science isn't just in the classroom, it's in your everyday self-care routine too!

Attention Maydm friends and families! Summer is ramping up and we are getting ready for our Programs!

A special highlight for our STEMPower and STEMinism programs for all students grades 6 - 8. In these hands-on programs, students will explore the foundations of game design, from programing and storytelling to pixel and artistic design. Participants will experiment with coding, layouts, animation, and so many more digital tools while building a responsive, user-friendly shareable web games! Along the way, students will learn about digital safety, accessibility, and how to create for real users.

This week we hosted our inaugural Maydm Match Day! 💜

This was the moment our interns met their host companies for the first time and took a real step toward their futures in STEM and the workforce.

This is what it's all about. Watching our students walk into rooms where they belong, ready to grow, ready to contribute, and ready to be seen!

None of this happens without our incredible mentors, donors, staff, and community partners who show up for our students every single day. Thank you for being part of this!

Meaningful change takes a community and this week, ours showed up in a powerful way.

We welcome a group of dedicated volunteers to the Maydm office from Thermo Fisher Scientific for a hands on workshop, where they assembled activity kits that will go directly into our programs. Every kit created represents another opportunity for a young person to get hands on with projects, build confidence, and see themselves as the future of STEM!

Park Bank stopped by the Maydm office this week to donate 26 computers and the person who set them all up? Someone very close to Maydm!

Gift was a two-year Maydm internship participant (2024 & 2025). He has spent the last two years building his technical skills, showing up, and putting in the work. All that hard work paid off and Gift was offered a part time position at Park Bank!

So not only did Park Bank invest in our organization they invested in our student! Gift turned right around and invested that knowledge back into Maydm by getting those computers up and running for our community.

Throwing it back this Thursday to last summer and all the time our students spent learning outside ☀️🌿

Throughout the season, our programs incorporated outdoor time into activities, giving students space to build, test ideas, and work together in a different setting. These moments weren’t just a break from the classroom, but they were also a key part of how students engaged with STEM in a more hands-on way.
