HAPPY BEAVER DROP DAY! 🦫
On August 14th, 1948, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game relocated 76 beavers by putting them in wooden boxes attached to parachutes and then dropped them out of a plane. 😳
They did this because the beavers were causing issues in and near around growing towns in Idaho. The program was a huge success as the beavers adapted well to their new home in the woods and left a positive impact on the ecosystem.

The name of the Madison Police officer who shot and killed Corey Ruiz has been released by the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Per the DOJ, officer Kiel Baitinger-Peterson has almost 11 years in law enforcement.

Madison Police have released this drone video of a physical altercation between Independent Police Monitor Aeiramique Glass and officers today. Again, this is video from MPD.
This happened while police cleared the encampment at Williamson Street and Baldwin Street.
The encampment has been in place since July 22 when Madison Police shot and killed Corey Ruiz.
