HandPoked

Hand poked tattoos have a vintage look that reminds me of lithograph print work such as illustrations you'd find in old texts. I love the control i have with this method as well as the degree of detail i can achieve. I use different dot sizes and varied density to create different shading effects. Some things are not really practical for hand poked designs (sizeable areas of solid black or colour), while other things are not possible at all like smooth shading and colour blending (like a machine). Hand poked tattoos take more time than tattoos done with a gun. however, this method is easier on your body (no heavy vibrations/loud buzzing), heals faster, and allows for an amazing amount of detail. i often schedule multiple sittings to complete tattoos with lots of detail and or color. this allows for careful planning and precision.
