Alice Kisiya, Palestinian Christian journalist, activist, community leader, and founder of the Save Al-Makhrour Initiative, shared her family’s long struggle to protect the land they have farmed for generations. She spoke about ongoing legal battles, settler violence, demolitions, and the environmental impact on Al-Makhrour, including the loss of the valley’s water spring. Alice called on people to keep advocating for Palestinian communities and their right to remain on their land.

Taybeh is an all-Christian village in the West Bank, suffering extreme settler attacks against residents, property, and churches. These settlers live in illegal outposts that surround and overlook the town.
Al Makhrour Valley, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is privately owned Palestinian Christian farmland that belongs to citizens of the nearby villages of Beit Sahour and Beit Jala. Families in Al Makhrour have been subjected to the Israeli Army's demolition orders and attempts to confiscate farmland. Because a recent court ruling in their favor gives renewed hope to these families, they are steadfast in remaining on their ancestral land.
