The Rotary Club of Morgan County has the honor of hosting Mrs. Kimberly Bennett today at our lunch meeting. Kimberly is head of “The Circle of Love” operation - a sanctuary for victims of domestic violence.

Every day, survivors of domestic violence in our community need a safe place to turn. That’s where Circle of Love Center, Inc. steps in.

Serving residents of Greene, Morgan, Putnam, Hancock, and Baldwin Counties, Circle of Love provides critical services to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, including:

- 24-Hour Safe Shelter
- 24-Hour Hotline Access
- Protective & Stalking Order Assistance
- Legal Advocacy & Case Management
- Court Accompaniment & Transportation
- Employment & Housing Search Assistance

Domestic violence affects people of every age, background, and community. By raising awareness, supporting survivors, and sharing available resources, we can help break the cycle of abuse and build safer futures for families across our region.

If you or someone you know needs help, assistance is available 24 hours a day.

“New shoes are something a lot of people take for granted” -Bob Carpenter with United Craftsmen Children’s Shoe Drive explained at our Rotary lunch today.

It started with a single person that had been in and out of children’s home buying shoes for the less fortunate. After his passing Bob wanted to continue his legacy and turned the drive into a thriving 501(c) charity.

UCCSD is making a difference by providing educational support, resources, and community-focused programs that help empower students and families every day.

Their mission is about more than education — it’s about creating opportunities, building partnerships, and investing in the future of our communities.

Take a moment to learn more about their work and help spread awareness for an organization committed to making a lasting impact.

Good morning Morgan County!

Yesterday, at our Tuesday lunch meeting - we had the privilege of hosting Nico Jacobs, the founder of Rhino 911 in South Africa.

Rhino911 is an organization that provides emergency helicopter rescue to rhinos injured or orphaned due to poaching and other trauma. Since 2008, Nico and his team have responded to more than 140 emergency calls — each one representing a fight to save one of Africa’s most iconic and endangered species.

Helicopter rescue in remote terrain is complex, dangerous, and expensive. Trained wildlife pilots are rare, and Nico has personally donated countless hours of flight time to this mission. When additional pilots are needed, costs can exceed $300 per hour — yet these flights are often the difference between life and death for these animals.

Rhino 911 operates on the front lines of conservation, ensuring that rhinos do not fade into extinction like so many species before them. Their work is a powerful reminder that conservation is not abstract — it requires courage, commitment, and action.

We look forward to seeing you around Morgan County Nico!
