Appeals Court District 2 overturned a ruling that had restored the collective bargaining rights originally abolished by Act 10. While this is an unfortunate setback, the work continues to rebuild worker power in Wisconsin.

Our state is better off when workers have a say in their workplaces. Act 10 was an assault on all of our rights and our economy, engineered by Scott Walker with the help of Tom Tiffany, to disempower working people and weaken public schools.

The courts should restore every workers’ right to organize and collectively bargain, and the legislature should act to protect those rights in perpetuity. We must continue to champion people over the powerful and rebuild the infrastructure for public sector bargaining.

We must continue to stand with working people — the people who make our communities strong, who educate our kids, care for patients, keep our streets safe, and protect our natural resources.

No one is above the law. Not even Elon Musk.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission recently concluded that Elon Musk likely violated our state's election bribery laws. Nearly a year and a half ago, I was the first to call out his crime and urge prosecutors to charge him.

Elections belong in the hands of voters - not billionaires writing illegal checks to voters. Despite Musk's meddling, Wisconsin rejected this attempt for big money to buy an election, and we must keep doing so. Ultimately, we need to implement public financing for our campaigns and end Citizens United.

Wisconsin used to pride itself on the excellence of our K-12 public schools, and I'm dedicated to making our public education system the best in the nation again.

Although our state's constitution guarantees a free education until age 20, Republicans have continued to underfund public schools even as they push for additional privatization and vouchers.

We can move our state forward on education together. By restoring state investment in public schools, we can end the cycle of divisive referendums, fund schools equitably, and lower property taxes. Most importantly, we can give our kids the education they deserve.

Debate is at the core of a functioning democracy. If you know me, you know I value free speech and will protect our rights.

State government plays an important role in regulating and protecting people from the harms of Artificial Intelligence.

I have introduced many bills to regulate Big Tech, and to address the potential harms of AI that are going unchecked by the Trump regime on the federal level. One of these bills would prevent AI from automatically denying prior authorization claims.

When healthcare is already inaccessible and insurance is unaffordable, we can't have AI overruling a doctor's judgment. We need protections in place to prevent insurance companies from dangerous, abusive practices to ensure patients are treated.

Last week, the Trump regime canceled essential grant funding programs for teen pregnancy prevention. This is a catastrophic decision that will harm young people and make it harder for them to access health care.

Educating children and teens about their bodies is a way to prevent early pregnancy, teach them about s*xual health, and improve public health overall.

I'm the author of a bill to ensure comprehensive, medically accurate, age-appropriate s*x education, and back in 2009, we passed the best human growth and development instruction law in the country. A few years later, Republicans repealed it, putting young people in jeopardy. Let's set up our kids for a healthy future, not take it away.

We are celebrating our country's 250th anniversary at a moment of great challenge and division. It’s up to all of us to preserve our freedom and our democracy for the next 250 years. Patriotism isn’t blind allegiance — it’s working every day to uphold our fundamental values and make our country better for the next generation.

July 1 marked the beginning of postpartum Medicaid coverage being extended for new moms! This a huge victory that I and my Democratic colleagues worked to pass for many years, even as Republican politicians blocked it every time.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services predicts about 16,000 mothers will now get to keep health care coverage for a year, helping to reduce our shamefully high infant and maternal mortality rates, which disproportionately affect moms and babies of color.

Health care should be a right for everyone. But this is an important step forward and I’m so glad that these new moms will be able to access the care they need.
