The Greater Madison Writing Project at UW-Madison is an affiliate of National Writing Project (NWP) network. Through the NWP's professional development model, teachers in all subject areas and at all levels learn new strategies for helping their students become accomplished writers and learners. Teachers also become members of a professional community that helps them keep their teaching fresh and vibrant.

Rise Up & Write is a youth advocacy writing camp for middle and high school students who want to explore important issues, imagine a better future, and use writing to inform and engage a variety of audiences. Led by Greater Madison Writing Project educators along with local writers, advocates, and activists, this camp helps young people grow as writers and changemakers.
