Hey everyone! UW-Madison's Earth Week is coming up and there are many events to attend! Come join us, Students for the Preserve and the Sierra Club at Library Mall on April 24th from 4:30-6:30 and tie-dye a free t shirt re-used from goodwill. It is truly amazing what you can do with vinegar, water, and some fruits and veggies!

Hello LEAFEr's happy last week before spring break! We had a great time yesterday working with the Friends of the Lakeshore Preserve over at picnic point. Thanks to those who showed up! We do have one meeting before spring break this Wednesday at 7:15 in Science Hall room 15. We'll be discussing our upcoming volunteer and speaker events and introduce our gardening project with Marquette Elementary School. Coffee and donuts will be provided and everyone is invited to stick around afterwards for a study jam. Hope to see you all there

Hello all!
This Wednesday at 7:00 pm, we will be attending a presentation titled "Detecting Pharmaceuticals in Lake Michigan: Going Beyond the Threshold of Environmental Concern." Curtis Hedman from the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene will be leading the discussion on how traces of prescription drugs are being found in the waters of Lake Michigan. The presentation is in room 1111 of the Genetics/Biotechnology Center (425 Henry Mall). All are welcome! It should be very interesting, so we hope to see you all there!

Hello everyone! The first meeting of the semester is this evening at 7:00 in Memorial Union, in the Inn Wisconsin East room (second floor). We will go over events for this semester and Brian Bedford will be speaking about an upcoming gardening project at local middle schools. We will also discuss volunteering events at both area schools and the lakeshore preserve. Hope to see you there!

We are getting the semester started with our first social event tomorrow at 5:00 at Babcock Dairy in Memorial Union. We will pay for one scoop of ice cream for every member, so come on out and find out what we'll be doing this semester!

Secondly, we will be having our first general meeting this Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Inn Wisconsin East room in Memorial Union (on the second floor). We hope to see you all there!

This coming Saturday, October 19th LEAFE will be having a bake sale outside Urban Outfitters from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. We will be selling all kinds of fall baked goods like pumpkin bread, monkey bread and owl cupcakes. LEAFE members get their social points for just stopping by! Come by and celebrate fall.

Hey everyone! Today the 2013 SER Conference on international ecological restoration is going on. They need someone to fill in and help run the program. It is from 1-7 and anytime you are available would be awesome! This is a wonderful opportunity, if you can volunteer I would definitely suggest it!
