A Labor union representing electricians in South-Central Wisconsin since 1900 Local 159 was chartered in November 1900.
There is little in the way of historical record of these early days. When founded, Local 159 was comprised of linemen and wiremen. Today, Local 159 is an Inside Local with many classifications of electricians; Journeyman Wireman, Residential Wireman, VDV Technicians, Apprentices, Construction Workers and Construction Electricians. We've been lucky enough to work with IBEW ourselves in the past: they helped update and expand our electrical system at Troy Farm. This Saturday, August 1st from noon-3, IBEW 159 will be hosting a tie dye event at the hall! Both regular and high visibility tie dye will be available. Bring an old work shirt to jazz up! All supplies, including lunch, and some donated shirts will be provided. Friends and family welcome!
