The BEST of the BEST — Team Mendota!

We’ve been working on how we handle disagreements sitting down, talking it out, and making sure both sides get a chance to be heard. ❤️

We’re also learning that apologies are important, even when something happens by accident. We talk about what happened, apologize when needed, and end it with a handshake so we can move forward. 🤝

Little lessons like these help teach communication, accountability, and respect.

Today, our youth picked fresh tomatoes from their very own garden and some enjoyed them in a salad with lettuce from Rooted! 🍅🥗 They also learned how to make pancakes and had even more fun getting to eat their own creations. 🥞 It was a great day of hands-on learning, trying new skills, and enjoying the results of their hard work!

Week one of after-school program is off to a great start! 📚🎮🎈 The kids are getting used to our routine and spending time each day focused on reading and finishing the books they’ve started. We’ve also added Minecraft as a new activity this year, and just for fun, we started learning how to make balloon animals! We started with dogs, and they’re already excited to learn more. It’s been great seeing how excited everyone is to be back in school.
