A huge thank you to Community Living Alliance for hosting, and to Jason at Access to Independence for a powerful presentation on building a more accessible Dane County.

Thank you also to our tabling organizations who shared their resources with attendees: Morgan's Caring Connection, Project Home, Secure ID, LLC, Interpreters' Cooperative of Madison, Common Threads Family Resource Center, Employment Resources, Inc. (ERI), and Access to Independence.

And a special thanks to Secure ID, LLC for sponsoring breakfast, and to Marigold Kitchen, Porchlight Products, and Rusty Dog Coffee for keeping everyone fed and caffeinated!

We left with a clearer picture of just how much more we can do to make Dane County more accessible — and we're grateful to everyone who came together to explore what it takes to build a community where people of all disabilities, ages, and identities can thrive.

For the past five years, Meghan Stern has been a steady presence, a thoughtful connector, and a true champion for Dane County’s small business community. As she steps away from her role as Interim Executive Director, we want to take a moment to recognize the meaningful impact she has had on Dane Buy Local and the community we serve.

Her work with DBL has always been rooted in relationships: showing up for members, making introductions, strengthening partnerships, and bringing people together around a shared belief that local businesses are essential to a thriving community.

We are grateful for the time, care, and commitment she has given to DBL and to the many business owners, community partners, and local leaders she has supported along the way.

DBL is strong because of the community behind it: our members, committees, sponsors, partners, supporters, and Board of Directors who continue to believe in the power of choosing local. As we move into this next chapter, that mission remains at the center of everything we do.
