I don’t trust anyone who’s nice to me but rude to the waiter.

Because kindness isn’t real when it’s selective. Anyone can smile at you when it benefits them, when they want something from you, or when they’re trying to make a good impression. That’s easy. What’s telling is how someone treats people who can’t offer them anything in return.

The way a person speaks to a waiter, a cleaner, a driver, or anyone they see as “below” them reveals their true character. Respect isn’t about status, money, or power, it’s about humanity. If someone feels entitled to belittle others simply because of their role, that same attitude will eventually surface in your direction too. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but the moment the balance shifts, it will.

Real character shows up when no one is watching. It shows in patience, in tone, in simple courtesy. It’s in saying “please” and “thank you,” in acknowledging effort, in treating every person as worthy of basic respect.

So no, I don’t trust charm without compassion. I don’t trust kindness that disappears when there’s no advantage to be gained. Because how you treat people who serve you is exactly how you’ll treat people once you stop needing them. 💡🤝

The start of 2026 has ruffled feathers. Notice if your state of being is being consistently upset by thinking about the nature of our world. While it can be messed up beyond belief at times, we give our power to change it away by chronically being angry and upset at it. Processing healthy levels of anger quickly and keeping a light hearted state of being is key.
