Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant
Summary of Goals and Objectives:
Dane County’s Energy Efficient and Conservation Strategy is closely aligned with the State of Wisconsin’s original “Plan for Energy Independence: Clean Energy Wisconsin” and the goals set by Wisconsin’s Global Warming Task Force (GWTF). These State goals include:
1. 25 X 25 – Generate 25% of transportation fuel by 2025.
Capture 10% of the market share of the production of renewable energy and
bio-products.
2. Become a leader in groundbreaking research to make alternative technologies
affordable and available to all.
3. By 2015, reduce electric load by 2% and reduce natural gas usage by 1%.
Increase the state Renewable Portfolio Standard from 10% to 12 % in 2015
to 25%; building codes that incorporate the latest International Energy
Conservation Code within 18 months of promulgation; and a low-carbon fuel
standard. As described in the Dane County Board of Supervisors Resolution
No. 206, 08-09, Dane County Supports Wisconsin’s 25 X 25 Goal For Energy
