Mississippi rural hospitals and clinics are being encouraged to join the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs External Provider Scheduling (EPS) platform to help streamline care for veterans. π₯πΊπΈ
The system allows VA schedulers to book approved patients directly into provider schedules in real time, reducing delays, administrative work, and referral turnaround from weeks to hours. β±οΈπ»
The initiative aims to improve access to local care for veterans while creating new referral opportunities for participating providers.

The Delta Regional Authority is making more than $16 million available through its Statesβ Economic Development Assistance Program to support infrastructure, workforce, and business development projects across its eight-state region. ποΈπΌ
The funding will support community-driven projects focused on improving public infrastructure, transportation, and long-term economic growth, with awards ranging from $50,000 to $500,000. π

CMS has announced plans for a new self-attestation process for Rural Health Clinic recertification surveys, potentially replacing periodic on-site surveys with a brief form completed every six years. While intended to reduce administrative burden, NARHC has raised concerns about long-term compliance, accountability, and program integrity. π₯π
NARHC has submitted comments to CMS and continues advocating for solutions that reduce burdens while maintaining strong RHC standards. π¬
