In honor of World Breastfeeding Week, I wanted to reshare these photos of three amazing moms.
We took these years ago, long before I ever knew I’d be breastfeeding a baby of my own. Back then, I thought they were beautiful because I got to witness such a special connection. Now, after experiencing my own breastfeeding journey with Rowen, they hold a completely different meaning.
It’s kind of crazy to look back and realize these women were showing me the beauty of breastfeeding before I even knew it would become part of my own story. 🥹
Happy World Breastfeeding Week to every mama, no matter what your feeding journey looks like. You’re doing an incredible job.
Okay, hear me out…
I know budget is a huge factor when choosing a photographer (trust me, I get it). But if you’re spending your hard-earned money on photos you’ll hopefully love forever, don’t overlook style.
Every photographer edits differently, poses differently, and tells a story differently. If you book someone just because they’re the cheapest, you might end up with a gallery that was never really your vibe.
Book the photographer whose work makes you say, “I NEED my photos to look like that.” 😍

Home sweet home. 🏡
I finally made it back to the studio today for the first time in almost TWO months.
Started my morning with a newborn session about 45 minutes away, drove back to the studio for the cutest birthday session with 2-year-old twins (send help lol), and now I’m here resetting everything for another newborn tomorrow… after Ro’s swimming lessons, of course. Needless to say, I’m tired. 😂
It honestly felt so good to walk back into my space again. It’s been a while, and I forgot how much I missed it. I can’t wait to be in more during the week and really make this place my 2nd home again.
Now excuse me while I fold wraps, charge batteries, and pretend this studio is going to clean itself. 📸

After a lot of thought (and a lot of excitement), I’m officially leaning into the kinds of wedding days that make my heart happiest. 💒
Starting now, Photos by Kenzie Rae will be specializing in:
✨ Intimate Weddings
✨ Elopements
✨ Courthouse/Civil Ceremonies
There’s something so beautiful about slowing down and celebrating what truly matters—the vows, the emotions, the people who mean the most to you. Those are the stories I want to tell.
To celebrate this new chapter and grow my portfolio in this space, I’m opening 5 Portfolio Launch spots at special pricing.
🤍 Civil Ceremonies (up to 1 hour) — $225
🤍 Elopements (2 hours) — $475
🤍 Intimate Weddings (up to 4 hours, 50 guests or fewer) — $850
Whether you’re saying “I do” at the courthouse, in your backyard, at a local park, or surrounded by your closest family and friends, I’d be honored to document it.
These prices are only available for my first five bookings before returning to regular pricing.
If you’ve been dreaming of a small, intentional wedding day, I’d love to hear your story. Send me a message and let’s start planning.

Ain’t no way I’m letting you go now. It’s in the contract, sorry babes. 😉
My heart is heavy.
Like so many in Madison, I’m grieving the tragic murder of a Black man at the hands of a police officer. My heart breaks for his loved ones, his community, and for everyone carrying the weight of yet another loss. No one should have to fear for their life or mourn a loved one because of violence like this. And while for Corey’s sake I’m glad there was video and witnesses that fight the “he had it coming” narrative, no one should have to be exposed to watching something so traumatizing and horrific.
I’m taking some time away from the noise for a bit to care for my mental health after everything that’s happened. I also recognize that being able to step away is a privilege that many people, especially Black communities who continue to live with this reality, do not have.
I don’t have all the right words, but I know silence can also speak. I simply want to acknowledge this tragedy, hold space for those who are grieving, and continue striving to lead with compassion, empathy, and the belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and humanity. Especially in crisis.
Please take care of yourselves and one another.
