We just wrapped up our inaugural Hospital Camp for high school students, and we’re still buzzing from the excitement and energy they brought to our campus! ✨🩺
Over three action-packed days, our campers got a true behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of community healthcare.
They didn't just watch — they dove right in, spending valuable time shadowing our amazing nurses, respiratory therapists, nurse anesthetists, lab techs, clinical dietitians and imaging staff.
They even got to play tornado victims in a hyper-realistic disaster drill, witnessing how our Emergency Department handles high-pressure situations with calm, skill and compassion. 🌪️🏥
We hope our campers came away more excited than ever to pursue a career in healthcare and, ultimately, give back to the community we all love.
Thank you to our incredible staff who made this free camp possible, and to our campers — the future of healthcare is looking very bright! ❤️

HH Health's “100 Years of Babies” drone show included a spectacular gender reveal in the night sky, and we are thrilled to share that the sweet couple behind this only-in-the-Rocket City announcement has chosen to deliver their baby girl right here at Madison Hospital this December! 🩷
Long Island natives Jess Domenichello and Brandon Silhan moved to North Alabama in November to be closer to family (Brandon’s brother works for NASA) and to escape those harsh New York winters. ❄️
“We’ve been visiting Huntsville for years and finally decided we like it here, too,” Jess said. “It’s so friendly, and I love the mountains.”
Jess is a Delta flight attendant who has spent most of her career flying between the U.S. and Italy, while Brandon previously worked as a security manager at the World Trade Center. Now, they are ready for their biggest adventure yet: parenthood! 👶
Please join us in giving Jess and Brandon a warm North Alabama welcome, and leave your best wishes for their growing family in the comments below! 👇

Please help us give a warm "welcome home" to Riley Holt, RN, the newest (and returning!) member of our Emergency Department. 👋
If Riley looks familiar, it’s because she worked with us previously. After some time away, she missed our unique culture so much that she decided to come back to the Madison Hospital family this week!
"We have a wonderful group of nurses here that are so supportive," Riley says. "They’ve really welcomed me back with open arms and made me feel great about my decision. Honestly, it feels like I never even left."
Riley is a University of North Alabama nursing graduate with a stellar background in the Pediatric ER and hospice care. She’s already making waves in our ER with her clinical skills, compassion, and that great smile!
🏥 WE ARE HIRING! Want to work with Riley? Our Emergency Department is growing, and we are looking for passionate, dedicated nurses to join this tight-knit team. If you want a fast-paced environment where leadership has your back, we want to talk to you.

📣 Shout out to our Emergency Department team!
They just won a Madison Hospital HRO (Highly Reliable Organization) Hero Award for their incredible work in patient safety. 🏆
By implementing strict safety protocols and looking out for our most vulnerable patients, this dedicated team reduced patient falls by an impressive 57.1% from the fourth quarter of 2025 to the first quarter of 2026!
In healthcare, being a Highly Reliable Organization means creating an environment where safety is the top priority in every single interaction. Emergency departments are fast-paced and unpredictable, making this dramatic drop in patient falls especially noteworthy.
Leave a comment below to help us congratulate them on this fantastic achievement! 👏👏

Let’s hear it for Victor Campbell, our Employee of the Month for June! 🎉🏆
As an Emergency Department Attendant, Victor is known for going above and beyond every single shift — but if you ask one of his recent patients, they'll put it a little more directly: "Victor is the GOAT!" (Greatest of All Time)🐐✨
Victor was nominated by an co-worker who wanted to recognize his incredible work ethic and positive attitude. He also received a shout out in this 5-star Google review from a parent whose daughter was treated in our ER:
"Victor changed the trajectory of the entire night,” the parent wrote. “We came in somber. The entire mood shifted because of his ability and willingness to engage with us in the most personable way. Victor made sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. My daughter (the patient), thoroughly enjoyed his presence and appreciated his care. Her words: 'Victor is the GOAT!'"
Victor, thank you for being an absolute gem to the Madison Hospital ER team and for shifting the mood for our patients when they need it most. We are so lucky to have you! ❤️

A century ago this week on June 8, 1926, Huntsville Hospital officially opened its doors. Just three days later, the hospital welcomed its very first maternity patient — and a true Huntsville legend was born. 👶
Meet Israel Bernard “Buddy” Miller, the inspiration behind HH Health's "100 Years of Babies" celebration happening this Saturday at The Orion Amphitheater.
According to family lore, Buddy’s mother, Elsie, was in the middle of a winning streak at a neighborhood poker game on June 11, 1926, when her contractions started. Not wanting to leave the card table, she played until the last minute before being rushed by ambulance to the brand-new hospital on Madison Street.
Buddy went on to live an incredible 91 years. He was a high school valedictorian, a dedicated civic leader, president of Temple B’nai Sholom, and a successful businessman. He and his wife Dolores raised three children — all born at Huntsville Hospital!
From a single baby boy delivered after a lucky hand of cards, a century-long legacy was born. Since Buddy’s historic arrival, Huntsville Hospital, Madison Hospital and Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children have welcomed nearly 360,000 babies into the world! 🌎🏥❤️

Join us in celebrating Trinity Worthy, a Health Care Assistant in our Acute Medical Care Unit, for winning the prestigious Making a Difference (MADI) Award! 🏆
While helping out on a different unit, Trinity stepped in to comfort a patient who was upset and experiencing a panic attack. Here's a glimpse of the powerful nomination submitted by one of her colleagues:
"Trinity immediately went to the patient, held her hand, guided her back to her bed and got down to her level, almost sitting on the floor, to help calm her. Trinity did not appear annoyed or inconvenienced, and assured the patient she would be there as long as she was needed. Trinity exemplified what we should all hope to do: make the patient feel important, heard and feeling that they are not just a number."
Thank you, Trinity, for being the perfect example of the empathy and heart we should all strive for. We are so proud to have you on our team! ❤️

Congratulations to Caleb Nymeyer, RN, for being recognized with our Making a Difference (MADI) Award! 👏💚
Caleb was nominated after going out of his way to support a fellow team member during a very difficult situation at work. He stepped in without hesitation, offering assistance with both compassion and discretion.
“Caleb made a huge difference for his co-worker … during a time they needed it most,” says a colleague. “He definitely exemplifies our ‘be caring’ and ‘be kind’ standards.”
Thank you, Caleb, for the kindness and professionalism you show every day to both your patients and your teammates in the Intensive Care Unit. 🌟
