A Mock Trial - Where's the Liability? Students examine a real case, walking through the court process, to determine liability. This is approved for 4 C.E.'s.

Have you been considering obtaining your Wisconsin Life & Health License but just can't take a week off of work to do it? Madison College has a course that runs June 15 - August 7th. The course runs on line with live WebEx class meetings around the students' schedules. Students can complete the course in a week, or at a slower pace, and test for the state license upon completion. Last night's graduation was a special celebration for the Risk Management & Insurance Program. After 10 years of the program's existence (8 as a concentration for business majors and 2 as a One Year Diploma) we made the commencement book with 3 graduates! We are proud to have a total of 4 students graduate with the diploma and many students choose this great industry as a concentration. Congratulations to Camille Daniels and John David pictured here who walked across the stage last night! Both are working in claims positions with Sedgwick.

Today I had the privilege of attending the CPCU I Day in Madison with one of my students. The panel discussion of women leaders in the insurance industry was phenomenal. They provided great tips for anyone who wants to be successful; build a network, find a mentor, take risks, influence change. I also met our new Commissioner of Insurance Mark Afable who agreed to speak at our 2020 Symposium! If the morning couldn't get any better, the Dairyland Chapter of CPCU awarded my student, Nick, a very generous scholarship towards his RMI studies!

Get ready to get licensed! P&C Pre-Licensing starts on campus on November 8th! The course is offered in a combination classroom/on-line format, with numerous study tools, maximizing knowledge while minimizing classroom time. In class dates are November 8, 9, 15, & 16.

In Business released the list of the largest 100 employers in Dane County. America Family Insurance ranked #4, CUNA Mutual Group is #7, and WPS holds the 9th position of the top 9. Also in the top 9 are SSM Health (Dean), #3, which is not only a health care provider but also a health insurer. These 4 companies are also huge supporters of the Risk Management & Insurance Program at Madison College. Congratulations!
