Terrence and Dominique bonded over some one on one time and a collaborative drawing. Terrence brings a patience and kindness into a sometimes chaotic setting; ultimately the kids hunker down and don’t come up for air until their guardians or buses arrive. As most of you know, I run a nonprofit to support children impacted by incarceration. Currently we are serving over 50 youth at various sites around Madison. Soon we will serve youth in 15 schools when we partner with MSCR and MMSD to bring the program to more youth in need.
For the holidays, we are asking friends, neighbors and community members to donate so we can give each child in our program a holiday gift. Some are in more need than others, so I am asking for donations between $5-$20, or whatever you would like to donate!! I will send you recognition of your tax deductible donation!
You can donate through our website: https://www.culturalconnectionsmadison.com/
or Venmo me -Dillon-2, this goes right into our organization's bank account.
Thank you for your consideration!

Rothko is smiling down on these young artists! Stage one of our Rothko interpretations for our January 13 opening show at Abel Contemporary Gallery featuring our kids and the amazing work of Diane Washa, who’s been working with this group since summer. Not in that order.

We are going to be proud and loud and braggy about our partnership with MyArts--or Madison Youth Arts Center. This week we started hanging the work our Club Express kids accomplished over Covid on the awesome gallery walls in this extraordinary, world class MyArts building. On Monday we hold our first session with kids in the space the MyArts people have provided for our program. Here are the first two pieces to get hung, more next week--the work of (left) Solomon Moore and (right) Damien Smith. These pieces were created at Dane Arts Mural Arts led by artist Terrence Adeyanju. Spray paint on canvas. Thank you MyArts people, Jess, Courtney, Lynne and Mike.

Liubov Szwako did it again with our kids. After letting the kids work their magic on the back wall of the Goodman Centers gymnasium, Liu worked his. A fantastic End of the summer season. More than a couple in this group sought advice about becoming muralist. PBS’s Wisconsin Life stopped in as did Pam Cotant from Wisconsin State Journal. A proud day. Thanks Liu.
